Privacy

Finbro has no accounts. Everything you enter — your profile, your progress and your CV — stays in your own browser, on your own device.

In one sentence

Nothing you enter in the app ever reaches us. The only personal data we hold is the email address Stripe collects if you subscribe, kept so we can find your licence if you lose it.

What the app stores, and where

The following is saved in your browser's local storage so your progress survives closing the tab:

  • The name, school or university, age and target desk you enter during sign-up
  • Which questions you have answered, and whether you got them right
  • Which cases you have read
  • Any interview date you set
  • The text of a CV you choose to add

This data is written only to your device. There is no account and no synchronisation. We cannot see any of it, and neither can anyone else.

If you add a CV

The PDF is read inside your browser to suggest which desk fits you. It is never uploaded, and never sent to us or to any third party. Only the text extracted from it is kept, in the same local storage as everything else.

If you subscribe

Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, which is the data controller for it. We never see or store your card details.

After a successful payment our server stores one record so your subscription can be checked and restored:

  • Your licence key — the code shown in the app
  • The email address you gave Stripe at checkout
  • Stripe's own customer and subscription identifiers
  • The date your current paid period ends, and whether it is set to renew

That is the whole record. It is not linked to your name, your school, your progress or your CV, because none of those ever leave your device. We keep it for as long as the subscription is active and for six years afterwards, which is the retention period French accounting law requires for records of a sale. The legal basis is performance of a contract — we cannot give you access to a subscription without recording that it exists.

Deleting your data

Clearing your browser's site data removes everything stored on your device, permanently and immediately. You can also remove a stored CV from the Profile tab. Because we never hold a copy of any of it, there is nothing to request from us and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

If you have subscribed, the billing record above is the one exception. Email contact@finbro.fr and we will tell you what it contains or delete it, subject to the accounting retention period.

Analytics and cookies

There are none in the app: no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no cookies set by us. Stripe's own checkout and billing pages, which open on Stripe's domain, use cookies necessary for payment and fraud prevention under their policy.

Your rights

Under the EU GDPR and the UK GDPR you have rights over personal data a company holds about you, including access, correction, erasure, portability and the right to complain to a supervisory authority.

For everything you enter in the app those rights need no request: the data is in your browser, under your control, and you can delete it at any time without asking us. For the billing record, email the address above. In France the supervisory authority is the CNIL.

Children

Finbro is intended for adults preparing for graduate and professional interviews. It is not directed at children.

Changes

If this changes — for example if accounts are added so progress can sync between devices — this page will be updated before the change ships, and the app will tell you.
